<p>This taxon was first collected in the Alabama flora by Melanie Spaulding from Cleburne County in 2021.&nbsp; The noteworthy collection was included in <a href="https://www.phytoneuron.net/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/07PhytoN-AlabamaRecords.pdf"><strong>Spaulding &amp; Triplett (2022)</strong></a> as <em><strong>I. sanguinea</strong></em> Hornem. ex Donn, now consdiderd to be a synonym of <em><strong>I. sibirica </strong></em><a href="https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/33062454/"><strong>(</strong></a><strong><a href="https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/33062454/">Boltenkov et al 2020)</a>.</strong></p>
