The taxon Carex ignota Dewey has long since treated as a synonym of Carex striatula. However, Dorey (2019) demonstrated that C. ignotea is decidedly distinct and should be recognized as separate from C. striatula. Some specimens below may have yet to be evaluated to determine if they they are identifiable with C. striatula or C. ignota.--B. Keener
