This taxon is slated for exclusion from the Alabama flora as V. dentatum is a species to the north and northeast of our range. All specimens cited below should be reevaluated and annotated accordingly. Most of these specimens will most likely be identifiable with one of the following taxa: V. alabamense, V. scabrellum, V. ashei, or V. rafinesqueanum.
